Physical Resources Administration

The Role of Physical Resources Administration

Provide various support services for the entire Physical Resources Directorate and provide avenues to all Physical Resources services through the various methods of submitting work requests, including the Work Order Desk.

How to Submit a Work Request

As the Work Order Desk receives over 15,000 maintenance related calls a year (over 60 requests per day, on average), calls must be prioritized. Maintenance and Energy Services and Environmental Services prioritize these calls by urgency and handle them in the following order:

Priority 1 Response – Immediate

Priority 2 Response – 2 to 3 days

Priority 3 Response – 5 plus days

Administration will:

  • Process Work Requests through the Work Order system
  • Perform initial sort and routing/distribution of all requests according to urgency level
  • Arrange service interruptions and utility shutdowns related to the facilities and equipment managed by Maintenance and Energy Services
  • Manage all relations and contracts with the providers of public utilities for the supply of natural gas, electricity and domestic water in conjunction with the Central Utilities Plant, and the Director of Maintenance and Energy Services
  • Administer and track key deposits, and issue refunds on key returns
  • Provide work order invoice details to clients upon request
